This week Cheshire West and Chester SCP are joining The Children’s Society, National Police Chiefs Council and British Transport Police in asking the public to #LookCloser in relation to Child Exploitation.
Exploitation can happen anywhere to a child including in public spaces like bus stations, fast food outlets, shopping centres and hotels. Children and young people who are being exploited may not always appear vulnerable or act the way we might expect victims should. If something doesn’t feel right, it may not be. Collectively we can safeguard more young people if we all know what to look out for and how to report concerns to the Police. To learn more about the #LookCloser Campaign, and the Signs of Exploitation please visit the website here
If you are worried that a child is in danger please ring 101 or 999 if it is an emergency. You can also contact Children’s Services in Cheshire West and Chester via our Integrated Access and Referral Team (iART) 0300 123 7047 and out of hours on 01244 977 277.
If you are concerned about a young person on Public Transport text British Transport Police on 61016.
Please join us in starting the conversation about exploitation and #LookCloser for the signs of it happening in our communities. You can follow us on Twitter at @CheshWestSCP for more resources and information throughout the week.
