Harmless - Self Harm Awareness

Harmless is the centre of excellence for self harm and suicide prevention. They are a user-led organisation providing a range of services including support, information, training and consultancy.

Harmless training is CPD-accredited, research-informed, evidence-based, and in line with the National Suicide Prevention Strategy, NICE Guidelines and Health Education England Competence Frameworks. The bespoke content is developed by specialist trainers, our clinical staff and our service users – ensuring that lived experience and expertise is at the heart of our programmes.

Our specialist training aims to develop understanding, skill and confidence. We encourage delegates to explore their own attitudes and beliefs in building their awareness of key issues faced by people in distress, and the services these individuals may encounter.

Suitable for those with some existing understanding of mental health, self harm and suicide (including previous training), this is for front-line staff whose role involves supporting people. These staff may come into contact with individuals in distress, but their roles do not primarily involve specific self harm or crisis support work.
